The Rings of Power were all formed long before Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) set off on his long journey to destroy the One Ring. Audiences would be forgiven for assuming he forged all of the Rings, but his role in creating the 20 Rings of Power is actually more complicated. ![]() Tolkien’s masterful work didn’t offer much of an explanation for how the Rings came about other than the fact that Sauron created the One Ring. ![]() Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies centered around a hobbit who was given the task of destroying the One Ring, but there were 19 other Rings of Power. The opening of The Lord of the Rings tells viewers about each of the Rings of Power, including the One Ring forged by Sauron, but there remains a mystery over who forged the other Great Rings of Power. ![]()
